How Court typing tests are scored
Courts use the conventional WPM formula but count mistakes slightly differently from generic typing tools. - Train at 40 WPM, not 30. Exam-day adrenaline, an unfamiliar keyboard and a new passage shave roughly 5 WPM off your home speed. A comfortable 40 WPM in practice becomes a comfortable 30+ on exam day.

5. Is the Court Clerk typing test qualifying or ranking?
For most court posts it is qualifying only — the final merit is driven by the written examination and interview. A minority of subordinate-court notifications allocate 10–20 marks for typing speed above 30 WPM, so extra speed can matter at the margin. 6. How many errors are allowed in a Court Clerk typing test?
5% to 7% combined mistakes depending on the notification — Delhi HC JJA typically specifies 7%, some District Court LDC notifications tighten it to 5%. Full mistake = wrong character, missing word, unrecognisable spelling (1 mark). Half mistake = missing/extra space, wrong punctuation, case error (0.5 marks).
